Calculate Accrued Annual Leave on Termination

Calculate how much holiday pay you're owed when leaving a job. When your employment ends, you're legally entitled to payment for any accrued but untaken annual leave. This calculator works out exactly how much your employer owes you in your final payslip.

Your Rights to Holiday Pay When Leaving

Under the Working Time Regulations 1998, you must be paid for all holiday you've accrued but not taken, calculated pro-rata from the start of your leave year to your termination date. This is a statutory right that applies to all workers, regardless of why you're leaving.

What You're Entitled To

  • Payment for all accrued but untaken annual leave
  • Calculated at your normal rate of pay
  • Pro-rata calculation from your leave year start to termination date
  • Bank holidays may be included depending on your contract
  • Payment must be included in your final wages

How the Calculation Works

The calculator determines your pro-rata entitlement based on your leave year start date, termination date, and annual entitlement. If you've taken more holiday than accrued, your employer may deduct the overpayment. However, you can never owe holiday pay—this only applies if you've exceeded your entitlement.
