Privacy Policy
Holiday Hours is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you. No accounts, no tracking cookies, no advertising, no data sent to our servers.
What data do we collect?
None. Holiday Hours does not collect, store, or process any personal data.
When you use a calculator on this site, all computation happens inside your browser using JavaScript. Your inputs — employment type, hours, leave days, dates — are never transmitted over the internet.
Cookies
We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics.
Your browser's localStorage is used to save your calculator session
so you can return to a partially completed calculation without starting again. This data
never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clicking "Start again" on any
calculator, or by clearing your browser's site data for holidayhours.co.uk.
localStorage is not a cookie — it cannot be read by other websites and is never sent to a server.
Analytics
We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-first, open-source analytics platform. Umami:
- Does not use cookies
- Does not collect personal identifiers (no IP address stored, no fingerprinting)
- Is fully GDPR compliant with no consent banner required
- Collects only aggregate page view counts and referrer data
- Runs on our own self-hosted instance — data is not shared with Umami Inc. or any third party
We use this anonymous aggregate data only to understand which calculators are most useful and to prioritise improvements.
Shareable links
When you use the "Share Results" button, your calculator inputs are encoded into the URL as a compressed string. This link contains only the numbers and selections you entered — no name, email, or identifying information. Sharing the link is entirely optional and at your discretion.
Advertising
Holiday Hours does not display behavioural or targeted advertising. There are no ad networks, tracking pixels, or retargeting scripts on this site.

Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, or
delete under GDPR or UK GDPR. If you have concerns about your localStorage data, simply
clear your browser's site data for holidayhours.co.uk.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date below and note the change in our changelog. Continuing to use the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
