What is the UK minimum holiday entitlement?
All UK workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks (28 days) of paid annual leave per year under the Working Time Regulations 1998. This is the minimum — employers can offer more.
How is holiday pay calculated?
For workers with regular hours, holiday pay is usually their normal weekly pay. For irregular hours workers, it can be calculated using the 12.07% method or average earnings over 52 weeks.
Do bank holidays count as leave?
It depends on your employment contract. Model A: bank holidays are extra (28 + 8 = 36 days). Model B: bank holidays are included in your 28 days.
